To most people in the United States the Eurovision Song Contest means nothing. But across Europe, mention the word Eurovision and most everybody knows what you’re talking about – and has an opinion about it!
Well, it’s that time of year again, and today marks the week of Eurovision. Because so many countries now participate – 42 this year – the event has been divided into two semi-finals, with the Grand Final this Saturday, May 16.
As I’ve already created a couple of lenses (3 actually), I couldn’t let this year’s competition pass without making a 2009 version. All the participating song videos are included, along with a poll to vote for your favorite. I’ve also tried to give a flavor of what the Contest is all about.
